What types of data might we want to collect?
- Surveys
- Interviews
- Ethnographic reports?
- ... and more!

What could we do in this sub-thread?
- Brainstorm of data collection methods?
- Light evaluation of data collection methods (e.g. which ones are more effortful given our existing skills and ways of working, what types of analysis would different types of data enable, which ones are we most excited about using)
Possible outputs for ‘data collection’ subsection
- Define a set of data collection methods (or specific method) we would like to use, this could enable us to create clear ‘data collection’ tasks
- The data collection methods chosen would influence (and be influenced by) the question of ‘what kind of "illustration" we can use to communicate paths’, so I think it makes sense to sync on this after the sub-threads have separately made some progress
- Should also sync with ‘What is a DAO’ research thread to understand what questions and themes are emerging, and whether the data collection methods we are thinking about would give us sufficient information to answer those questions or not.
Worry: Does it make sense to predefine the data collection methods ahead of figuring out specific sub-questions/hypotheses we are trying to answer, or does the method inevitably follow from the question? Is it enough to just go off the basis of the main research question or would we need further decomposition and clarity?
