Brainstorm!
- Co-ops
- Small Businesses
- They are running so fast they can’t level up, they hit a ceiling
- Employee voice
- Strategic focus for operational improvements
- Unblock your grown
- Home Owners Associations
- Usually contract with a service (e.g. sentry management)
- I think a concentrated market
- Small HOA’s get crappy service, get dumped by mgmt co’s, are probably low margin
- Feels like they have a labor problem - it’s a sucky job and it needs high skills
- There are a few tools out there, but
- Tools are few, very old school, hard to change
- Labor movement??
- Unions. Apparently some cases of leadership just not being motivated to really push for members’ interests, too comfortable running things in an ‘administrative status quo’ fashion. When asked why they don’t like or seek help from unions, members end up saying the unions “just take our money (as dues payments) and don’t do anything for us”. Sounds quite undemocratic at present.
- Getting engagement and running votes etc. are big parts of their processes
- Civil society??
- ‘Democracy initiatives’ sort of things
- Market seems saturated, but I wouldn’t know
- ‘Community-building NGOs’??
- Microfinance, community currency, community-building etc. initiatives
- Many of them want to empower local communities to make their own decisions
- Big focus on building trust within these communities too
- E.g. Grassroots Economics
- IdeaDrop - Waitrose
- Mitterstung
- Idea management software (there are competitors)
- Sobol 12k customers, most not W3
